When Recycling and Fashion Meet

It used to be that only thrifty fashionistas, cost-conscious students, and vintage lovers trawled the rails of op shops to curate their preloved wardrobes.

These days, second-hand shopping is one of the most cost-effective and trendy ways to update your personal style. The Taranaki Women’s Refuge, with its much-loved and highly anticipated ten-day preloved clothing event, has been trailblazing this growing trend since 2013.

Now in its tenth year, the Taranaki Women’s Refuge Pop-Up Shop, hosted at the New Plymouth Racecourse, proudly holds the title of one of the region’s longest running and largest preloved fashion sale events.

The event flourishes thanks to the continued contributions of the local community, whose donations and volunteer spirit keep quality preloved fashion in circulation. These generous annual donations play a vital role in raising funds to combat family violence in our community.

In recent years, the calibre of donated fashion has grown, making designer pieces even more accessible to cost-savvy, burgeoning fashionistas in Taranaki.

Thousands of incredible preloved items, from one-off vintage pieces to trendy modern styles, will be available at this year’s Taranaki Women’s Refuge Pop-Up Shop.

Get ready to update your wardrobe with unique and affordable finds when the shop opens later this month.
