Runway for Refuge

The Taranaki Women’s Refuge event season began with a buzz at Runway for Refuge on 15th September. Held at the Plymouth International Hotel, over 300 guests enjoyed a fabulous night celebrating everything fashion and female. Over 30 New Zealand fashion designers such as Stolen Girlfriends Club, Otsu, Thing Thing, Blak, The Knitter and Trelise Cooper donated stunning items for auction.  Guests were captivated by World Bantam weight champion boxer Mea Motu who shared a critical message for us all; not to ignore Domestic Violence, help, call the Police. The Runway committee, Neisha Herbert, Brooke Barrett, Victoria Garrick, Tash Lewis and Freya Smith produced a brilliantly streamlined, high energy evening, full of women, by women, for women. With outstanding community support, Taranaki is certainly behind a great night out for a great cause.
