Feast Festival

Feast Festival Taranaki was set to launch in June with a full programme of events and unique offerings.

Then of course, COVID-19 arrived.

There was no choice but to postpone the festival.

The Taranaki Arts Festival Trust (TAFT) came to Feast Festival with an opportunity to partner with the Taranaki Garden Festival, and their new event RESET 2020 to create a vibrant Spring offering and unique tourism draw.

“This story of the affect of Covid 19 on events is not unique, but our local response and support is,” believes Feast Festival creator Rachel Church. “Feast Festival Taranaki has been saved by our local councils, media outlets, businesses and other collaborative events coming together for the greater good of supporting our critical hospitality industry.  TAFT’s offer of collaboration was the hand the event needed and just continues to show how much benefit they create for the region. That’s Taranaki at its best.”

“This global pandemic has affected us all personally, professionally and socially – it has separated us from family and friends — sitting down at a meal, or a coffee or drink brings us together — we can forget our stresses for a bit and truly connect.”

Take the opportunity from October 30 – 15 November to support your local restaurants, bars and cafes.  Follow the Feast Festival Website (feastival.co.nz) or on Instagram (feastivaltaranaki) and Facebook for ways to Feast!
